Staffing
Our clinic is staffed by Medical Assistants (or
MA's). An "MA" has graduated from a Medical Assistant
program in which they study the function and structure of the
major body systems, medical terminology, diagnostic and therapeutic
procedures, as well as injections and blood drawing. Administrative
processes, computer skills, and bookkeeping are added to make
them an indispensable part of a medical office.
In addition to graduating from a MA program a "RMA"
is a Medical Assistant that has passed a certification test administered
by American Medical Technologists.
A "CMA" has graduated from an accredited program for
Medical Assistants and has successfully passed a certification
examination administered by the American Association of Medical
Assistants. A "CMA" must re-certify every 5 years,
either by retesting or by continuing education credits, to be
able to continue to use the "CMA" credential behind
her name.
